Mark Duckham

Mark Duckham MD, London

After four years of reading Classics at Oxford Mark left academia for the more earthly pleasures of a top London advertising agency. Working on brands like Kronenbourg, Ray Ban and Nintendo Mark made it to the front page of Campaign magazine before winning his first healthcare pitch. In anticipation of an early move to direct to consumer advertising in Europe Mark made the switch from consumer agency to healthcare agency. Whilst Managing Director at Grey Healthcare, Mark navigated the agency through its sale to WPP before being headhunted to run a market research agency – TNS Healthcare. As MD there Mark witnessed another WPP takeover and a complete rebranding to Kantar Health. His experience in the consumer world, healthcare advertising and market research, along with time on the client side give Mark a unique perspective.

Mark is still awaiting the arrival of DTC advertising in Europe but is very pleased to be the new Managing Director at THE PLANNING SHOP and to combine his passion for Communications and Insight at an Omnicom agency.
Phil Dunn

Phil Dunn Head of Research Methodologies and QuantSHOP, London

Phil heads up THE QuantSHOP, a specialist quantitative research practice at THE PLANNING SHOP.

His role encompasses innovation on new research approaches, working with clients on quantitative research studies and facilitating brainstorms and workshops for client specific projects.

With more than 25 years experience of managing quantitative research Phil has a wealth of expertise in segmentation, conjoint and pricing as well as communications testing (such as message and concept testing).
Sherry Fox

Sherry Fox President, North America

After graduating Sherry spent eight years at Intersearch Corporation, where she was instrumental in starting up the global research division. She then spent 12 years as VP of Market Research and Client Development at Verispan, an integrated marketing services firm specialising in the pharma industry.

Sherry joined THE PLANNING SHOP in March 2007. Despite the economic downturn Sherry’s division exceeded first-year revenue in 2010, securing key Preferred Vendor status agreements. In addition, Sherry established THE PLANNING SHOP's dynamic Oncology Research Group.
Dori Stern

Dori Stern Global Client Strategy Director, New York

Dori has a degree in Advertising Design from Cornell University and an MBA in Marketing from New York University.

Since graduating from New York University Dori spent seven years at Young & Rubicam Advertising, NY, where was an SVP and Planning Director for their then-largest account, the US Army Recruitment Command.

In the mid-90s Dori transferred to Y&R Europe, where she spent more than seven years in market research and consultancy at Wirthlin Worldwide. Her time there saw her focus entirely on pharma business.
Colin Grant

Colin Grant CFO, London

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Colin brought a commercial focus to SMEs within the software, finance and manufacturing sectors gaining International experience in the US, Continental Europe and China. He has experience of strategic acquisitions; launching new international subsidiaries for revenue growth; raising VC funding; the management of shareholder exits through trade sales; and integrating small businesses into larger companies.

Colin joined THE PLANNING SHOP in 2014 to head up the Finance department and sit on the strategic management team.

Colin has a Bsc (Hons) from St Andrews University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 with Price Waterhouse (London).
Mary Dominiecki

Mary Dominiecki Vice President, Oncology, North America

Mary leads the Oncology Research Group at THE PLANNING SHOP, managing the strategic direction of the team and overseeing all oncology research projects. Her oncology experience has covered virtually every tumor type including solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.

Before joining the Company, Mary worked in the bio-oncology group at National Analysts Worldwide (now NAXION). She has also held various positions serving the pharma industry, including Clinical Publications Lead at AstraZeneca, Medical Director for an oncology-focused medical communications agency, and Senior Medical Writer in several therapeutic areas.

Mary holds a PhD in Basic Medical Sciences from The New York University and a BS in Biology from The Pennsylvania State University. She also has extensive experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in biology, genetics, immunology, and microbiology.
Caroline Mathie

Caroline Mathie Vice President, Rare Diseases, London

Caroline leads the Rare Disease Group at THE PLANNING SHOP.

After studying Medical Bio-chemistry, Caroline spent 14 years at IMS Health, over 10 years as an independent, director-level consultant and four years as a director at J & D Associates.

Throughout her career, Caroline has had an active interest in orphan diseases and has expertise in a wide range of orphan disease conditions, including various lysosomal storage disorders.
Stephen Godwin

Stephen Godwin Head of Key Opinion Leader Research, London

Stephen began his professional life as a post-doctoral, serotonin-receptor scientist, evolving through pharma industry (with Merck and Lilly), UK retail and International Management Consulting into pure marketing research on the agency side. Following 11 years of general healthcare research as a TNS Healthcare Board Director, he joined Isis, (later Synovate) to develop and hone a speciality in international scientific opinion leader research - focused principally on assessing drugs early in the pipeline. Currently, Stephen is Head of Key Opinion Leader Research at THE PLANNING SHOP.
Jacqueline Dewar

Jacqueline Dewar Global Financial Controller, London

With over 25 years in various finance and senior management roles in diverse industries as Entertainment, Property, and Marketing, Jacqueline joined THE PLANNING SHOP in 2012 to help develop the finance team and create efficiencies and improvements in the company.
Claire Macchia

Claire Macchia Vice President, North America

Claire has over 14 year's experience in primary qualitative and quantitative healthcare marketing research in addition to prior agency-side experience in health outcomes and medical communications.

During her time at THE PLANNING SHOP, she has led several highly successful collaborations and - as someone who loves to innovate - her passion has been to find creative new ways to solve client’s complex business problems.

Claire brings a wealth of global experience to the Company, having attended research in the US, Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and South Africa, to name but a few.

Claire holds a Masters Degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, UK, with a specialism in Molecular Biology.
Nick Ross

Nick Ross Senior Research Director, London

Nick joined the healthcare market research world in 1997, working for a UK-focused agency on both qualitative and quantitative research. He originally joined for just two weeks, but stayed for 17 years, during which time he ran the IT support (as a geek at heart), and eventually became the Director of Research.

In 2014, Nick joined THE PLANNING SHOP as a part of the UK team, but quickly expanded to running global research projects. He is now responsible for running multi-market studies across many accounts, and has a keen interest in developing a wider base of clients.

Nick has a degree in Economics from the University of Bath.
Tim Parr

Tim Parr Senior Director, Global Business Support, London

Tim started his career in consumer research before moving to THE PLANNING SHOP to focus on healthcare. Fast forward 12 years, and he has moved from directing the UK business to leading Global Business Support. This is a wide-ranging role that covers budgeting, resourcing and – his first love – training and development.

Tim has a degree in American Studies from The University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
Emily South

Emily South Innovation Director, London

Emily South is Innovation Director at THE PLANNING SHOP. With a curiosity for people, stories and problem solving, Emily drives the development of new research approaches and tools for effective brand building.

Emily has a BSc Hons in Anatomy and Human Biology, and Biomedical Science from the University of Liverpool.
